As much as we love a showstopper of a wedding, it’s important to remember that when all is said and done it’s the getting married that is the really special part. Putting their wedding together in just a month, making their vows on the hearth of the fireplace in Aliza’s childhood home, surrounded by only the closest of friends and family, Aliza & Adam reminded us again of what we love the most about weddings – the family, the love, and the joy of celebrating life together, forever. Congratulations, Aliza & Adam!
Sometimes Lindsey and I are especially bowled over by how special our job is. Emily and Colin are so fun and sweet and kind and adventurous and spontaneous and…the list goes on and on. When they realized their families were actually going to be on the same continent for a couple of weeks, they decided to make their long time commitment to one another official and plan a wedding. In just two weeks! Emily was already a member of the Sweet Monday Photography extended family as we had photographed the wedding of her brother and sister-in-law a few years ago, and we were so, so honored when Valerie and Michael recommended (insisted!) they hire us and even more honored when Emily, Colin and the rest of their family so generously welcomed us into their intimate and super special celebration. As you can see, it was nothing but smiles, laughter, hugs, kisses and happy tears. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day if it had been planned for months.
Congratulations, Emily & Colin! And thank you!
Oh my, do we love this wedding! Our biggest hope for our clients is always that they will put together a wedding that is truly reflective of who they are and what makes them happy. Robin and Sean’s day was just that, 100%. Originally, they wanted to go to Yosemite and get married on a frozen lake, just the two of them (dreamy!). When their families put the kibosh on that idea, they decided instead to have a wonderfully intimate celebration in the back yard of some close friends. This day was a true labor of love. Robin made everything by hand (with some help from family members. Her dad made the napkins you see below!), including the ceremony and reception back drops, the invitations, and even quilts for all the guests to take home as gifts! Best wedding favor EVER!
Robin and Sean, it was such a complete delight to be part of your wedding day! We’re glad you didn’t elope after all!
