We are SO excited to begin our first full wedding season here in Boston and decided to celebrate with a photo shoot with some of our favorite local vendors for a little post on Style Me Pretty. Along with everyone else, we have been absolutely obsessed with Downton Abbey, especially the beautiful style of the era, so we decided to style our own modern day Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley for a mini portrait session at the gorgeous Alden Castle. Thank you SO MUCH to all of the vendors that collaborated with us on this project – we couldn’t have done it without you!
Location: Alden Castle, Longwood Events
Gown: Lela Rose, Flair Bridesmaid
Tux: Alton Lane
Florals: Misty Florez, Nectar
Hair & Makeup: Dani Wagener and Jana Rago
Hair Pieces & Belt: The Yellow Peony
Hooray for a Saint Louis engagement session! I’m so grateful that Kayla and David were willing to brave the freezing cold afternoon to wander around Tower Grove park with me. I live near the park, and have been watching it change with the seasons since we moved into our house last summer. I’m especially fond of it in this late winter stage. The cool architecture really stands out with the trees bare, and there’s something sort of quietly romantic about it right now. It helped that because of the weather, we had the whole place to ourselves! Kayla and David, thank you for being your sweet selves. We wish you all the best for an awesome wedding day!
Happy New Year, everyone! We are so excited for all that 2013 has to bring, including our first full year of living and working in Boston.* Yay! This engagement session with Leatha & Rett epitomizes all that we’re excited about…pretty leaves, pretty fall coats, cobblestone streets, brownstones, and the Public Garden with some pretty, pretty light. Did I mention the pretty? And we cannot wait for Leatha & Rett’s wedding…since Rett is a direct descendant of founding father, John Adams, they’ll be married at the Adams Historical Park and Leatha will be wearing Abigail Adams wedding veil. DYING!
* Don’t worry, we’re still shooting in Los Angeles and in St. Louis as well!
We’ve had such a fun and rewarding year of shooting, and Serena and Wendall’s destination wedding in Mexico put a memorable (and warm and tropical) cap on our 2012 season. As always, we’re deeply grateful to our clients for making it possible for us to have a career we love so much. Thank you for allowing us to be part of such beautiful and personal days in your lives!
Here’s a peek at Serena and Wendall’s Mexican celebration, as well as their follow up party back in Boston. Congratulations you guys, and congratulations to all our Sweet Monday newlyweds!
