Inspiration to Reality Photo Shoot Featured on Style Me Pretty

We are so thrilled to have been able to participate in Abby’s Inspiration to Reality project over at Style Me Pretty. We partnered with Meg Fickling of La Partie Events to choose an Inspiration Board that was the perfect mix of homey & modern, and design a “real” wedding based on a real bride’s inspirations. (See the original board here.) As crafty girls that happen to be photographers, it really was a dream come true to get to work with some of our favorite vendors and create a perfectly beautiful day for the sole purpose of photographing pretty things & sharing them with other girls who appreciate that stuff just as much as we do. We really tried to focus on the “reality” part of the shoot and handmade a lot of the elements (i.e. the backdrop, napkins, table runners, etc.). But of course we couldn’t do it all ourselves and want to say thank you SO MUCH to all of the other amazingly creative people that donated their time, energy & talents that made this shoot a reality and truly took it to the next level. Abby has all the details here and here and here over at Style Me Pretty, but we really wanted to just say THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! And, enjoy the photos!

Allison & Gregg Engagement session in New York City

Allison & Gregg are getting married in Allison’s hometown of San Diego, but New York City is where they met & where they live, so it made sense to do their engagement session in the city that is their home together. And, Lindsey & I were more than thrilled at the opportunity! (Of course, we had to make a weekend of it with the food and the shopping and the food…but that’s another story!) It was great to finally meet Allison & Gregg in person and we had a blast just walking around their neighborhood and strolling through Central Park. We ended up catching the sunset from the roof of Allison & Gregg’s apartment where the view is AH-mazing! What a fabulous day!

Here are some of our favorite images:

The weather was insanely gorgeous & most of the snow from the huge storm the week before had melted. But, we found this one little patch left so of course we had to play a little!

And, what did we tell you about the view from the roof? Allison & Gregg are two lucky ducks!

Allison & Gregg, thank you so much for showing us around your city! We look forward to seeing you again in sunny SoCal next time!

Lindsey & Brian Engagement Session on Balboa Island, Newport, CA

After getting rained out the day before, we ended up with a gorgeous afternoon on Balboa Island with Lindsey & Brian for their engagement session. These two are super sweet & playful, so we had a blast with the rides and arcade before heading to the beach for some lovely, glowy sun. Here are some of our favorites:

Lindsey & Brian, thanks for such a fun afternoon! We’re looking forward to May!

Ingrid & Tim Engagement Session at a Junk Yard!

When Ingrid and Tim told us their idea for doing an engagement session in their friend’s old car shop/junk yard, we practically started drooling then and there. We absolutely love it when our clients have a strong vision for their engagement shoot and are willing to do something a little (or a lot!) out of the box. Add in a couple of cool old cars, and Ingrid and Tim’s impeccable style, and we were in heaven! We hope these images serve as inspiration for any of our other couples who are thinking of doing something a bit different for their e-session.

Ingrid and Tim, thanks for a shoot we’ll never forget!
